Freedom

P luuuuvs his Kansas days. There's Grams, of course. And, when he's lucky, Gramps is home from work, Uncle Cash and Maria pop over. Papa eats breakfast, lunch and dinner with us. Grandpapa and more Uncles are just a short car ride away. And then, there is a little thing called freedom....

There are five doors from which he can escape the house, fast. And, seeing how he was old enough to understand an imaginary stop line drawn around the pool area, he could use these at will. For the first time in his life, he could just GO. By Himself. This was huge the first few days. Huge. He'd run out and back in, just to report he'd been out :)

I'm not sure what changed all of this, but he eventually became wary of losing me amidst the huge house and took to hollering "Mamaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!"! (while impersonating someone about to hyperventilate) whenever I turned a corner without him, but it was adorable while it lasted :)

So, first freedom for Kansas: he wasn't trapped on the top floor of a multi-family dwelling in a busy city. Freedom Point Two: He could pee anywhere :) He loved this freedom the entire trip :)
