Learning

Phoenix, attempting to understand weight and the kitchen scale our sweet neighbors gave us.  You can imagine the iterations the floor ad scale saw that evening ;)

P's getting older, social expectations of his learning curve are rearing their heads these days.  He doesn't seem bothered by them, yet ;)  So, of course I love reading ("scientific") articles like this one about how kids learn.  Anything validating something you're doing is a hand's down fave ;)  Check it out - its short and sweet!

A-holes

"Most single moms are very poor, under-educated, can't get a job, and if it weren't for government assistance, their kids would be starving to death."

On behalf of the amazing single mums I know, some of them even homeschooling by day, working from home in the evenings... I wanted to take a quick minute to blast the Fox news pundit Huckabee as idiot extraordinaire.  While I truly believe the world would be a better place without Fox news, I know for sure it would be a better place without idiot white guys who grow up clueless (and thinking everyone is busy with Boy Scouts just like them - oooo, did I just stereotype? Shame on me ;) and then proliferate "stereotyping" bullshit.  Ahem.  Its, um, not the '50's anymore.  Mr. Huckabee, welcome to the rest of the world, it isn't what you think...

Here's hoping for a world free of close-minded prejudices, in P's lifetime.  Hey, a girl can dream :)

And sorry for going all poli on the blog.  A line I try not to cross.  But come on!  For real?!?!?
